Description
The FAA is seeking qualified contractors to renovate the Automation Wing Basement and Control Wing Basement for FAA Telecommunications Infrastructure (FTI) site preparation at the Cleveland ARTCC. Work consists of but is not limited to the following - Automation Wing Basement: 1) Installation of furred wall system, 2) Removal of the remainder of the Halon 1301 fire protection system and reprogram Direct Digital Control (DDC) system, 3) Removal of required portion of the existing Halon system in the Automation Wing Basement (AWB) and Automation Wing First Floor (AWFF), 4) Install insulation for the fresh air ductwork. South Control Wing Basement: 5) Demolish wall column and disconnect existing ramp and stairs, 6) Remove existing light fixtures, wiring and conduit, 7) Demolish abandoned power panels and abandoned electrical panels to include the Simplex TRD panel, the AHU-190 disconnect switch, the abandoned telco cabinet and the AAMC DAS alarm demarc box, 8) Insta! ll approx. 2,646 sq. ft. of FAA provided raised flooring, 9) Install new wall system and relocate the existing double door, 10) Install ramps and stairs, 11) Furnish and install a complete electronic equipment room raised floor grounding system to include floor pedestal grounding, signal reference grid (SRG), multi-ground plates, single-point ground plates and 4/0 bare copper perimeter ground, 12) Provide tie-in of the grounding of new raised flooring to existing facility grounding system, 13) Install new energy efficient light fixtures, 14) Other miscellaneous work as required. The offer range is between $140,000 to $180,000 with a performance time of approximately 150 calendar days. Construction start is expected to be in the July 2002 timeframe. No telephone requests will be accepted! . REQUESTS FOR THE SIR APPLICATION PACKAGE WILL BE ACCEPTED ON OR BEFORE CLOSE OF BUSINESS APRIL 26, 2002. Upon completion of evaluation process, only those firms determined to be qualified will be sent a Request for Offer (RFO). The RFO is anticipated to be available by June 2002. For informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, has programs to assist small businesses, small businesses owned and controlled by a socially and economically disadvantaged individuals, and women-owned concerns to acquire capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment, and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a sur! ety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
