Description
NA NON-PERSONAL HOSPITAL HOUSKEEPING SERVICES, MARTIN ARMY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL, FORT BENNING, GEORGIA. The MEDCOM Contracting Center is in the process of conducting an A-76 hospital housekeeping study at the Martin Army Community Hospital, Fort Benning, Georg ia. This synopsis is part of a market research effort to identify potential sources which may be capable of providing all labor, supervision, management support, transportation, equipment, tools, materials and services (except as specified as government-f urnished) to provide complete hospital housekeeping services required to curtail the spread of nosocomial infection and maintain sanitation standards established for Martin Army Community Hospital (MACH), Fort Benning, GA. The MEDDAC facilities requiring housekeeping services are MACH and its 24 outlying buildings covering approximately 445,000 square feet. In order to bid on this requirement a contractor, as a firm, must have experience in managing and providing hospital housekeeping services to institut ions of similar size and scope as required by this solicitation. The contractor must have gained this experience as a result of being regularly engaged in the business of providing services in health care/patient care environments (e.g. same-day surgery, outpatient, ancillary, and dental care services). The minimum level of acceptable experience required is 24 months within the previous 36 months from the date initially established for submission of proposals. Periods of creditable performance may have b een incurred at more than one site for at least 12 consecutive calendar months at each site and cannot be incurred concurrently. Currently the Government inhouse workforce is performing these services. Pursuant to OMB Cir A-76, the purpose of thi s study is to determine the most efficient and cost-effective means of providing the required commercial services. This will be accomplished through the conduct of a ?cost-comparison?. Accordingly, a contract may or may not ultimately be awarded as a res ult of the study/cost comparison. It is the Contracting Officer?s intention to conduct this procurement as a competitive small business set-aside with the applicable NAICS code being 561720 for Janitorial Services with a size standard of $12,000,000 (aver age annual receipts over the last 3 years). All valid responses must be by return e-mail. As a minimum, responses shall include the solicitation number, contractor's name, mailing address, phone and fax numbers, point of contact and e-mail address. Addi tionally, to assist in the planning of an acquisition strategy, responses to the following questions are required: Is your business is small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), or woman-owned/operated; are you certified ?hub-zone? or certified service disabled ve teran-owned? The solicitation will be issued on or about June 2002 and will be available over the Internet. Responses to this announcement will determine the ultimate strategy that the Government will utilize. If you are interested in competing for this requirement, please indicate your interest by sending an e-mail message by COB 17 May 2002 to: Shirley.Tolbert@cen.amedd.army.mil, contract specialist, (210) 221-4220 and Gary.Hankins@cen.amedd.army.mil, contracting officer, (210) 221-4122.
