Description
NA Sole Source. The United States Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Yuma, Arizona, intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the University of Arizona (U of A), Tucson, AZ 85721. This contract will be for the procurement of Intellectual Technical Su pport Services for Biological and Tropical Sciences. This contract follows-on an earlier feasibility study completed by the U of A. This contract is one part of a larger scientific and technical relationship that has evolved and culminated over the past s everal years with the development and implementation of Cooperative Research and Development Agreements (CRADA?s) between the Republic of Panama and USAYPG. The CRADA?s cover Degradation Testing on Various Reflective Plastic Coatings in Tropical Environme nt and Conducting Accelerated Testing of Materials and Products. Tasks under this contract include (1) Technical Support Services, (2) Training Services, (3) Material Equipment Management, (4) Establishing Emergency Stations with telemedicine capability fo r the safety and welfare of government test personnel and (4) Reporting. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) number is 541330 with a size standard of $4.0 Million. Award of the contract shall be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiation. A written solicitation will not be issued and this synopsis constitutes the only notice of this proposed acquisition. Proposals shall include complete mailing address, point of contact, phone number, facsimile number, business size and must demonstrate that your firm posse sses the experience and capability to provide the required service and possess historical experience in this type endeavor. Any responses in reference to this synopsis must be received by April 30, 2002. See Note 22. The number of days in note 22 is redu ced to 10 days.
