Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) intends to make a single contract award to a responsible entity for the provision of Comprehensive Hospital Services. These services will include but are not limited to inpatient hospital facility services and various physician services (outpatient and inpatient) for the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI)and Federal Prison Camp (FPC) located in Pekin, Illinois. FCI Pekin is a medium level security institution with approximately 1200 male inmates. The satellite Federal Prison Camp (FPC)is a low level security institution with approximately 260 females. (hereinafter referred to as FCI & FPC Pekin). The provision of hospital inpatient services shall be accomplished using facilities within a 30 mile radius of FCI/FPC Pekin. FCI Pekin is located in central Illinois on State Highway 29 in Pekin, Illinois. The proposed contract will satisfy medical needs that arise which cannot be provided internally by FCI and FPC Pekin medical staff as well as ambulatory clinic, referrals made to community-based providers. Also, the contract will require various physician services to be performed on-site at FCI & FPC Pekin and at local clinics and/or offices. The following professional services are to be provided under the resulting contract and are categorized into the following areas: Inpatient Medical Services, Outpatient Medical Outpatient Institution Services will include provisions for a radiology technician, psychiatrist, dietician and laboratory technician Services. FCI/FPC Pekin estimates the following, based on past requirements. Inpatient Medical Services estimated minimum (30) days annually for the total contact of five years. Inpatient Medical Services estimated maximum (150) days annually for the total contract of five years. FCI/FPC Pekin estimates Outpatient Medical Services estimated minimum (30) visits annually for the total contract of five years. Outpatient Medical Services estimated maximum (300) visits annually for the total contract of five years. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 622110. This NAICS code size standard is $29.0 million in annual revenues. The BOP intends to award an Requirements, Type Contract with a 12-month base period and four, twelve month option periods. The Base period year will be from date of award through 9/30/03; Option Year #1, 10/1/03 through 9/30/04; Option #2, 10/1/04 through 9/30/05; Option Year #3, 10/1/05 through 9/30/06; Option Year 4, 10/1/06 through 9/30/07. The procedures used for award of the contract will be competitive negotiated procedures by use of a written solicitation or Request for Proposal. The Government retains unilateral rights to exercise its option to renew each option period of one contract year. As such, there is no guarantee that the contract will continue beyond each one year period. This action is advertised as full and open competition. All future information about this acquisition, including amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. The anticipated award date is on or about 6/7/02.
