- NA The U.S. Department of Transportation, John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center), Cambridge, MA is assisting the Federal Aviation Administration with the installation of an on-airfield fiber optic communication system at the Newark International Airport in the town of Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. The work shall include directional boring, conduit construction, installation of innerducts, supply and placement of hand holds, route markers and other equipment and materials, as identified in the specifications. All contractors shall perform work in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price contract on a full and open competitive basis. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part-14-Sealed Bidding and Part 13-Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The estimated price range for this requirement is between $25,000 and $100,000. The North American Industry Classification Systems Code is 541990 and the Small Business size standard is $6.0 million. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available on the Internet. These documents will be available in text format and reside on a WWW server that may be accessed using Web browsers. Offerors desiring to receive electronic notification of the solicitations posting and availability for downloading may register at t he Volpe Center site. Contractors are warned that when they register to receive solicitations, amendments and other notices, the responsibility for providing the government with an accurate and complete e-mail address lies with the contractor. The Government will make no additional efforts to deliver information when the system indicates that transmissions cannot be delivered to the e-mail address provided. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed. Telephone requests will not be honored. This notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterpr ises to acquire short ? term working capital assistance for transportation ? related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short ? Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
