Description

The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, has a requirement for the procurement, installation and testing of one (1) motorized, free-standing, 360 degree rotating jib crane with a twenty (20) foot boom span at twenty-two (22) foot height. The jib crane shall be equipped with an assembled chain hoist, trolly and controls. The contractor shall install the crane at NUWCDIVNPT's Stillwater Basin, Pier 172. Installation performed by the contractor shall include welding the crane base plate to an existing level and true 1-1/2 inch thick dolphin breasting plate. Once installation is complete, the contractor shall demonstrate proper operation of the equipment to the government and shall perform a load test of all load-bearing components. The contractor shall perform his load test in conjunction with the Navy's load test and certification of the jib crane. The load test shall meet all Navy Crane Center and Naval Station Newport requirements. Weights for the load test will be provided by the Government at no cost to the contractor. The Government intends to award a single contract on a Firm Fixed Price basis using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. A request for quote will be released on or about 10 May 2002. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the Government. Award is expected on or about 31 May 2002. This acquisition is 100% Set Aside for Small Business.
