SOLICITATION #CS-I-LODGING TITLE: LODGING AND FOOD SERVICE POC: Brent Bouwens, 317-298-1300, extension 3098 This synopsis is published pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation Subpart 5.205. This announcement is not a formal solicitation. Availability of any formal solicitation will be announced separately. This synopsis is for planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation. The U.S. (Customs Service) (Customs) is seeking to identify responsible sources capable of providing lodging accommodations and meals for students attending training at a Customs training facility located in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The estimated number of students and guest faculty requiring lodging ranges from 31 - 55 per night during each weekly training cycle. There will be approximately 30 ? 36 weeks of training annually, tentatively scheduled to begin in October 2003. Lodging: Lodging must be located within a 15-mile radius of the training facility. Lodging must be in compliance with the Hotel and Motel Fire Safety Act of 1990 (PL101-391) and listed with the U.S. Fire Administrations National Master List. Lodging guestrooms must comply with the most current applicable local and national codes and standards including the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards (UFAS) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), whichever is more strict. Lodging guest rooms shall include adequate lighting, adequate ventilation, individual heat and air-conditioning controls, desk or work table with three-way lamp and work chair, color television set, touch tone telephone with data connection, queen size bed or larger (with top of line hotel quality mattress), combined shower and bath tub, sound-deadening walls, clock radio with alarm, closets of sufficient size to accommodate participants clothing for a two-week stay, iron and ironing board, coffee/tea maker, clearly marked fire exits, both a chain and deadbolt lock with keyless entry system. Size, d?cor, and comfort of guestrooms will be an important consideration. Meals: There shall be an onsite restaurant capable of providing breakfast and dinner meals for the students and instructors. Breakfast and dinner shall be provided to students and instructors lodged at the hotel as part of the lodging agreement. All breakfast and dinner meals shall be nutritiously balanced with three or more entrees offered for each day. Closing Date: All responses to this Notice of Interest must be received by June 14, 2002.
