Description
NA Description of Work: Contract consists of hydraulic placement of approximately 4.2 million cubic yards of beachfill between Townsends Inlet and Hereford Inlet along the Atlantic Ocean shorefront in the Boroughs of Avalon and Stone Harbor. Borrow areas are located in Townsends and Hereford Inlets. The project also includes removal, replacement and extension of storm drainage outfalls, dismantling and reinstallation of a deck, construction of dune and associated dune crossovers, sand fencing and dune gra ss planting. There is option work which includes placement of 1.0 million cubic yards of fill, construction of geotube core dune, associated sand fence and dune grass planting at the Stone Harbor Point Environmental Restoration site located along Hereford Inlet. There are two additional options for 500,000 cubic yards of beachfill each which are included to cover excess erosion which may occur within the base contract area. Solicitation documents will be available on the web page on or about 30 April 2002 hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests shall be accepted. Contractors shall download this solicitation (including drawings) and all amendments (including drawings) from the Internet at the following address https://ebs.nap.usace. army.mil/AdvertisedSolicitations.asp on or after issue date of the solicitation; The official media of distribution for this solicitation is the WEB PAGE. All required software to download the solicitation documents can be downloaded from the web page und er Viewers. Interested contracts must register on the Internet. If any of the contractor?s information changes during the advertisement period, contractors are responsible to make changes to their user profile on the Internet. Failure to make changes i n their user profile may cause a delay in receiving the solicitation and amendments. Bidders are responsible for printing paper copies of the solicitation including any drawings. Bids will be opened on or about 30 May 2002 at 11:00 am. This procurement i s unrestricted. The NAICS Code is 234990 with a size standard of $17.0 million. The estimated range of the project is over $10,000,000.00 and bonding is required. Affirmative action to insure equal employment opportunity is applicable to the resulting co ntract. Liquidated damages will be specified. Award will be made as a whole to one bidder.
