Description
NA This Sources Sought Market Survey is seeking to identify potential suppliers for a Crew Compartment /Diesel fueled, Air Heater, to include modification/installation instructions in support of the US Marine Corps, Family of Light Armored Vehicles Fleet (all variants: LAV-25, LAV-L, LAV-AT, LAV-AD, LAV-M, LAV-C2, MEWSS and LAV-R). The heater is used for heating the interior of vehicles and defrosting windshields and windows. It is to operate independently of the vehicle engine. Upon installation, the heate r shall be connected to the fuel supply system and electrical circuit of the vehicles. Responses to the Market Survey are due May 17, 2002. The Heater shall at least meet the following requirement characteristics and capabilities Heater Type: a. Type: Diesel Fuel Fired ? any standard (commercial grade), provided it conforms to Military Spec. VV-F-800 b. Capacity: 40,000, plus BTU/h (max) /10,000 BTU/h (min) c. Fuel Consumption: 0.705-lb./hr approx. d. Heating Unit and control Panel: Nominal voltage: 24 V DC / Operating Voltage: 20-28 Volts e. Dimensions-Heating Unit: Length ? Width ? Height mm 650 x 200 x 245 f. Heating Unit Weight: Approx. 14Kg g. Dimensions ? Control Panel: Length ? Width ? Depth mm 150 x 150 x 100 h. Self Diagnosis ? On Line Real Time i. Allowable Ambient: Temp. in heat mode (-30 to +20 C), in vent mode ( up to + 50 C) / storage temp (up to +80 C) / CO2 in exhaust gas (6-9% V) and CO in exhaust gas (0.2 % max V) Responses should provide detail information about the crew heater, including technical description, NSNs/PNs, estimated costs, etc. The responses should identify any previous contract(s) (contract number, dollar amount, POC?s, and program description, etc .). All interested firms, regardless of the size of business are encouraged to respond.
