Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with ABB, Inc. - Extrel Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry of Pittsburgh, PA, for (1) one Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer, Model MAX1202.1APP3/46.***Sole source determination is based on the need for this Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer to be completely compatible and interchangeable with our existing ABB Extrel C-50 Quadrupole Instrumentation consisting of one (1) C50-MM Mainframe, one (1) C50-IC Ionization Controller, one (1) C50 QC Quadrupole Controller, one (1) C50 Q1 RF Oscillator, 1.2MHz, 100W and one (1) Model 041-11 Axial Electron Impact Ionizer.***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 90 days after receipt of order.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by May 16, 2002. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
