The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Vredenburg for continued HighView COTS software maintenance of HighView COTS software previously acquired by the FBI in support of the Freedom of Information/Privacy Act (FOIPA) Document Processing System (FDPS), consisting of 670 HighView PRO, 670 HighView Workflow, 670 HighView Text, 5 HighView OCR, 12 HighView Batch Scan, 3 HighView Workflow Composer, 3 HighView Fax Server, 3 HighView Print Server, and, 3 HighView Bar Code, currently installed at the FBI. The contract action is for a six (6) month period. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is not issued as an 8(a) set-aside. This notification is published for informational purposes only. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered. All quotes shall be submitted via fax number (202)324-8209 no later than 3:00 PM, EST, May 21, 2002, quote clearly marked with RFQ 914725. Bidders are hereby notified that if your quote is not received by the date/time and location specified in this announcement, it will not be considered. Offerors are to include a completed copy of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and Certifications - Commercial Items, with their offer. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-06. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The clause at 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition.
