- Description
- Provide all labor, material, equipment, transportation and supervision required for the removal, disposal and replacement/upgrade of existing cutting gas system piping. Removal and replacement of selected (damaged and/or rotten) wood fenders is also required to properly support the new cutting gas system. Work to be performed at USCG Yard, Baltimore, MD. The NAICS is 235990 (SIC Code 1799) size standard $11.5M. This procurement is open to both large and small businesses in accordance with the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The estimated range is $250K - $500K. Period of Performance ? 105 calendar days from NTP. The contractor shall not begin site demolition until all material and equipment is available so that disruption to the Coast Guard operations is minimized. The gas system shall be demolished and reconstructed in two phases. Each phase shall be completed in 30 calendar days. The first phase involves work east of the shiplift. The second phase involves work on the shiplift and west of the shiplift. Phase two shall not begin until the first phase is tested and fully operational. The second phase will require shutting down and the Contractor providing temporary gas service to the east wall, shiplift, pier 1 and pier 2. It is estimated that the oxygen usage will be approximately 1500 cubic feet and the propylene usage will be approximately 500 cubic feet during the 30 day shut down. The bids will be due o/a 06/21/02. This procurement is open to both large and small businesses in accordance with the Small Business Demonstration Act. However, FAR Clause 52.219-23 Notice of Price Adjustment for Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns and 52.219-4 Notice of Price Evaluation for HUBZone Small Business Concerns may be applicable (This clause allows a price adjustment factor for small disadvantaged business concerns.
