- Description
- The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager, Test, Measurement, Diagnostic, and Audiovisual Equipment (TMDAVE) has a requirement for a small, light-weight, rugged computer and is interested in receiving product information from interested companies. The following information is requested to meet the needs of the Marine Corps. The intent of this computer is to act as a communication bridge between imagery acquisition and imagery transmission. Marine Combat Photographers and Videographers will acquire imagery and capture imagery onto the computer they will then compress the imagery and transmit it to higher headquarters. Minimum Computer System Requirements: This computer must be small in physical size. It must weigh less than three (3) pounds with batteries included in the weight. The computer needs to rugged in design, so that it can perform in adverse environments. Reference MIL-STD-810E for guidelines on rugged computers. The computer must have a minimum of a Pentium? III processor with a minimum clock speed of 700mhz. The computer must have a minimum of 256Mb of Random Access Memory, and a hard drive with a minimum of 20GB of storage. The computer must have a small display, which can be detachable or connected to the computer. Computer Interface Requirements: This computer must have at a minimum one (1) Type II PCMCIA Card Slot, one (1) USB port, one (1) IEEE-1394 port, one (1) 9-pin serial port, and one (1) interface for a display. Vendors who believe they have a product capable of meeting these requirements are requested to provide information regarding their production capabilities, quality assurance procedures, past performance, customer base, business size, commercial pricing, a corporate point of contact, and other relevant information.
