Description
The U.S. Customs intends to issue an Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for a five-year period for the following containers. The SPECIFICATIONS FOR A CONTAINER SYSTEM are as follows: A container is needed to store seized property such as but not limited to Marijuana, Heroin, Cocaine and Methamphetamine contaminated with gasoline/diesel. The container shall be a combination storage, shipping and incineration system that shall preserve the contaminated evidence and protect the employees from hazardous exposure. This system shall prevent the possibility of the escape of vapors, fluids or gases. The liner pouch shall indicate any tampering of the evidence when properly sealed. Once the container is sealed it shall provide safely stored evidence for a period of 99 years. The CARTON: The container construction shall resist the attack of chemicals and fluids while being stored. Each container shall be able to safely hold 25 to 35 gallons in weights of 150 pounds. This container shall be able to be stacked three units high and is to be tough enough to pass the United Nations Hazardous Shipping Code for International transportation of hazardous materials. The containers exterior shall be easily written upon with a felt pen. THE LINER POUCH: The lining material shall not degrade from the gasoline vapors. The liner pouch shall be large enough to accommodate the 25 to 35 gallon cardboard cartons with enough excess material to properly seal the contents. The liner shall enable itself to heat seal all evidentiary items and protect the employees from the hazardous vapors, fluids and fumes that are emitted by these commodities. AVAILABILITY: Purchases shall be available in units and individual buys of cardboard cartons and liner pouches. Deliveries to any United States located Customs facility shall be available within seven calendar days and in minimum lots of 50 units. Shipping charges would be included in the price of the units. Delivery orders will be issued. Multiple awards will not be made. The amount per delivery order will vary. The minimum quantity is 200 each. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which will be considered. POC for technical specification is Sharon Kilcrease. Proposals will be accepted via fax on (317) 298-1344, by 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on May 28, 2002.
