- Description
- The AFMLO/VA Special Services Division requires Decontamination Systems for use by Government Medical Facilities. These Facilities may be the initial site of recognition and response to bioterrorism events and must be prepared to receive, decontaminate and treat chemically contaminated patients. The process to be conducted must minimize the risk to staff and other patients. With the ever increasing possibility of chemical spillage's, disasters and terrorist attacks there is a growing demand to provide equipment capable of dealing with the decontamination of the general public, emergency services personnel and contaminated equipment. The intent of this contract is to provide decontamination units to deal with any size of disaster, provide swift decontamination, and so reduce the risk of harmful injuries. The solicitation is issued with the intent of awarding indefinite delivery indefinite quantity type contract/s for multiple Decontamination Systems for use by Government Medical Treatment Facilities (MTF's) located throughout the United States including Washington DC and for overseas MTF's. The Government is obligated to purchase under the resultant contract a guaranteed minimum of 60 units during the life of the contract. The maximum purchase quantity limitation during the life of the contract shall not exceed 100,000 units The Government may extend the term of the contract for four additional option periods. This contract can be utilized by any government agency in need of equipment. The contractor shall provide varying levels of support equipment depending on the unique characteristics required by individual facilities. It is the intent of this contract to provide varying degrees of options to government MTFs in need of the systems. It is anticipated that through established relationships with industry leaders for equipment and by capitalizing on the technical innovations within the industry, contractors are capable of providing innovative, cost effective solutions across a wide range of possibilities; these innovative solutions will enable the continued delivery of care in the government healthcare sector by a variety of methods. All responsible sources submitting proposal are required to provide a demonstration for evaluation purposes at Ft. Detrick Maryland on May the 30, 2002. Equipment may be set up on May 27 and 28 for view by multiple agencies but the technical team will evaluate the equipment proposed on May 30, 2002 beginning at 10:00 am EST. The offerors are required to notify the Contracting Officer of the Space required for the demonstration. All proposals are due in the Contracting Officers Office no later than May 23, 2002 4: 30 PM EST. No telephone requests will be accepted. The solicitation package is only available electronically in MS Binder format in the event you cannot open the Binder you are required to e-mail the contracting officer and request an unbound edition.
