Description

The Department of Health and Human Services, Office of the Surgeon General through the General Acquisitions Branch of Program Support Center plans to award a sole source Simplified Acquisition to Ann L. Elderkin . Closing date is May 15, 2002. The specific objective of the procurement is to plan, develop and execute a workshop titled "Surgeon General's Workshop on Bone Health". The contractor will be required to develop descriptive materials on the initiative and Workshop for use in briefings and communications with the public. The contractor will work with the Deputy Surgeon General, senior advisors, scientific editor and other staff to edit, print and distribute the Workshop Report. Sole source determination is based on contractor?s knowledge and expertise in the subject matter required. . The proposed Simplified Acquisition in accordance with Far Part 13 is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). A determination by the government not to compete this proposed Simplified Acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this requirement as a competitive procurement.
