- Description
- The government has a Sole Source requirement for an Aquinas System for Ascension Island. The objective of this action is to upgrade/install both hardware and software at the Ascension Island and four (4) Navy hydroacoustic stations that meet International and/or U.S mission requirements. This effort will also ensure that the hydroacoustic stations are compatable with hardware and software located at similar hydroacoustic stations, thereby reducing cost, material, documentation, and support personnel. This procurement is in direct support of the U.S monitoring mission of the U.S National Data Center (NDC) and the alternate U.S NDC. The system intergrated for Ascension Island shall include the Juan Fernendez Digital Data Formatter Interface and digitizer simulator for testing only. Testing shall demonstrate remote command and control for calibration, status, signature verification, status-of-health and troubleshooting from the software DCC installed at AFTAC. The systems intergrated for the Navy stations shall include two each AIM24S-3 digitizers and CIM II for testing purposes only. Testing shall demonstrate remote command and control for sensor and loopback modes, status of system and health, and troubleshooting from the software DCC installed at AFTAC. The contractor shall provide recommended settings for each Communications Interface Module (CIM). The contractor shall provide a capability for the user to enter unique hydrophone/preamp responses that would be convolved during sensor calibration selection. Each channel will have a unique response. The contractor shall provide COTS manuals that accurately reflect the capabilities of the installed equipment and a system that provides for both operating and maintaining the Aquinas System. All user configuration, operation and maintenance actions shall be graphical user interface (GUI) based and be written to the 9th grade reading level. On line help with examples shall be included with each GUI. A compact disc of the installed configuration shall be delivered for each system. The quantity is for one (1) unit. This is a Sole Source with Science Horizons, Inc. IAW FAR Part 6.302-1. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider all responses received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis. Important Notice: FAR 52.232-33 Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer-Central Contractor Registration requires registration in the CCR database. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 334111 the business size standard is 1,000 employees. These products are for the Air Force Technical Application Center (AFTAC).
