Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Polymers Division, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Veeco Metrology of Santa Barbara, California, for one (1) Extended Vertical Range, one (1) Individual Calibration Standard, 50 KA, one (1) Individual Calibration Standard, 100KA, one (1) Low Inertia Sensor, 3 Stylus, 12.5um, one (1) Low Inertia Sensor, 3 Stylus, 2.5 um, and one (1) Low Inertia Sensor, 3 Stylus, 0.2um, to upgrade the existing Veeco Metrology DekTak-8 Three Dimensional Surface Profiler. ***Sole source determination is based on the following: Veeco is the sole manufacturer of features and accessories fully compatible and easily integrated with the existing Veeco Metrology DekTak-8 Three Dimensional Surface Profiler. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, and shall be completed within 8 weeks after receipt of order. ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334513, and the size standard is 500 employees. ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations, however, responses received by May 24, 2002 will be considered by the Government. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
