Description

This notice amends a previously published synopsis. The following changes are being made: 1)The RFQ issuance and closing dates are being extended to 29 May and 27 June 2002 respectively. 2) The requirement for marine construction experience is being deleted however experience in modified latex concrete is required. 3) The commercial firm selling hard copies of the plans, specifications and bidpackagesis being changed as indicated below & 4) The Contracting Officer and the place for receipt of quotes is being changed as follow: Contracting Officer, USCG CEU/Providence,Fort Wadsworth Office, 311 Battery Road, Staten Island, NY 10305 (718) 354-4017. Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, supervision and disposal necessary for Wharf Repairs at USCG ANT Saugerties, Saugerties, NY (Ulster County). The work includes replacing two (2) timber chocks on a timber bulkhead, milling 2 inches from an existing concrete wharf deck and installing a 2 inch latex modified concrete overlay, crack grouting along a concrete bulkhead, installation of two (2) galvanized steel camel chains, and other miscellaneous related site work. Estimated cost of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. This Invitation for Bids is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation. Solicitation packages will be available on or about 05/29/02. The date for receipt of quotations is scheduled for 06/27/02 at 2:00 pm. Bid packages will be available on or about 29 May 2002 at a non-refundable charge of $17. Certified Checks or money orders should be made payable to Commercial Blue Print and Supply and mailed to the firm at: 83 Waverly Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to the Coast Guard. All relevant solicitation documents, including specifications and drawings may also be accessed for download beginning on the date of issue at the following site: http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued to the solicitation will be posted solely on this web site. Quoters are required to verify the number of amendments issued with the Contracting Officer prior to the date for receipt of quotations. Also, you may refer to a list of printers on the CEU Providence web site at http://www.uscg.mil/mlclant/ceuprovidence. Printers on this list can download and print the information for a fee. THE FOLLOWING NOTICE IS PROVIDED AS INFORMATION FOR MINORITY, WOMEN-OWNED, AND DISADVANTAGED BUSINESS ENTERPRISES: The Dept of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, payment and performance bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short-term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The max. line of credit is $500,000.
