- Description
- The U.S. Department of Commerce, NOAA, intends to solicit for purchase of 10 each Electrical Equipment Cabinets, commonly referred to as Acquisition Control Unit (ACU) cabinets, NSN: NWSO-20-870-0001. These specifically sized and engineered cabinets provide central control and user interface for the Automated surface & Operation System (ASOS) meteorological sensor array. ACU's are usually located inside a climate controlled structure, but must be designed for heavy duty use and storage within uncontrolled indoor environments. As a free standing cabinet, the ACU houses standard 19 inch rack mounted equipment which can be installed from either the front or the rear. Each ACU has lockable front and rear doors and a 300 to 400 CFM blower located at the bottom. The ACU accepts various peripheral inputs via an access panel at the bottom-rear of the cabinet. The entire ACI cabinet is constructed to protect internal equipment from electromagnetic interference and to control radiated emissions within the cabinet. This item will be delivered to the National Weather Service, Kansas City, Missouri. The intended procurement is for supplies for which the Government intends to acquire under the guidelines of FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions procedures. Any small business sources, able to provide the exact make and model of the equipment reference herein is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 calendar days after its publication. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The NAICS code for this action is 335999.
