Description
NA DESC: Non-Personal Services for Chemical Warfare (CW) Agent Off-Gassing From Various Substrates Testing. The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, services and equipment, for performance of validating current scientific data relating t o chemical agent off-gassing and persistency tables. Additional data on full-scale, open-air and chamber testing is required to verify laboratory results and current modeling estimates. Respondents will be required to meet the following objectives: (1) Determine the rate of evaporation from surfaces contaminated with selected CW agents. (2) Determine the effects on evaporation rates of CW agents from surfaces of simulated interactions with the surfaces of personnel and equipment during operational activ ities. (3) Determine the amount of CW agent that can be mechanically removed from contaminated surfaces using a laboratory swab at various times during significant vapor production. (4) Develop a methodology to effectively extract CW agents or their reac tion to residues from samples of concrete. (5) Determine what contamination density will result in a surface contact hazard at one hour weathering time for each surface and each CW agent. (6) Conduct a literature search and map analysis to determine and report geographical areas for which the selected soil samples used in this test are representative. The proposed contract is 100% set-aside for small business concerns with a starting date of on or about 1 October 2002 for a period of one year with no opt ions. Interested participants should submit their response no later than 5:00 P.M.
