Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to acquire using Simplified Acquisition Procedures 172 Occupant Emergency Organization (OEO) training sessions that the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI), University of Maryland, College Park, MD will provide to SSA at SSA's Woodlawn Maryland Central Headquarters during the period May through October 2002. The training courses are: Management Occupant Emergency Organization (OEO) Overview Presentation (64 sessions), and Evac+Chair Refresher Training (108 sessions). The Management OEO Overview Presentation is two hours long and includes the following topics: an overview of the Occupant Emergency Program at SSA Headquarters, fire safety standards, emergency services response orientation, and Evac+Chair video. The Evac+Chair Refresher Training is one hour long and includes the following topics: Evac+Chair reorientation and video, and Evac+Chair practical use (hands-on practice). MFRI has partnered with SSA to provide SSA's Occupant Emergency Program (OEP) employee training program for the past ten years and the MFRI courses described above were specifically developed by MFRI for SSA's use. SSA has an immediate need for the OEO training because of security concerns. SSA will not respond to requests for solicitation copies and will not pay for information received in response to this announcement. If necessary, SSA will issue a Request For Quotation (RFQ) for the OEO training requirement to interested parties. Responses to this announcement must provide sufficient information for SSA to determine that an organization other than the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI), University of Maryland can provide immediately the OEO training described above. If SSA does not receive an acceptable response to this announcement within 5 days of its publication, it will issue an order the Maryland Fire & Rescue Institute (MFRI), University of Maryland for the OEO training.
