Description
Sealed bids are solicited for Ground Detector Replacement in ATC Rooms in the Metro Rails System. This is a Fixed Price contract for the items listed in the Unit Price Schedule. The Contractor will have total system responsibility. The work includes, but is not limited to the removal of existing ground detectors, and the design, engineering, project management, quality control, furnishing, installing, testing and commissioning of new ground detectors, ready for use. The Contractor will be responsible for furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, supervision, testing, transportation, safety, appurtenances and other items necessary to replace the ground detectors in ATC Rooms. The Contractor will be responsible for making field measurements and for applying for and obtaining all necessary permits. The estimated cost range is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. A bid guarantee, in the amount of 5% of the bid price, is required with the bid if it is greater than $50,000. The solicitation will include a DBE goal to be specified. Please note that, in compliance with FTA regulations, Appendix B now requires DBEs to be pre-certified by WMATA prior to receipt of bids/proposals. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Payment Bonds after award of the contract in the specified amounts. An insurance certificate with coverages to be specified and with WMATA included as an additional insured, will also be required of the successful bidder. Bids are due as stated in the solicitation which is currently by 2:00 p.m., May 22, 2002 at WMATA, 600 Fifth Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001. A PRE-BID CONFERENCE WILL BE HELD at 2:00 p.m. May 1, 2002 at the WMATA Jackson Graham Building, 600 Fifth St., N.W., Room 3C01, Washington, DC 20001.
