Description: This is a notice of intent to extend the above referenced contract on a sole source basis for a period of 8 months with the current service provider, Verizon of CA, 16071 Mojave Drive, Victorville, CA 92392-3699. The requirement is to provide local exchange (dial-tone) telephone services for a period up to 8 months after the current contract expires on 17 June 02. A solicitation was issued and has closed for a competitive effort (F34608-02-R-5000) to provide this service, but the source selection and/or any possible cutover to a different vendor will not be concluded before expiration of the current contract. Competitive quotes are not being sought at this time. This contract extension is under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.
