- : The conference will be held June 4-5, 2002 at the Army Research Laboratory, Adelphi, MD at the SECRET/U.S.-Only classification level. The Conference chairman is Mr. Duke Dufresne, VP, Unmanned Systems, Northrop Grumman Corporation. The theme is "UAV/UCAV Payloads - Today's Opportunities/Tomorrow's Keys to National Defense." The keynote address will be given by Mr. Ron Mutzelburg OUSD/AT&L followed by a Congressional perspective. Session I will address the "Theater UAV Programs/Payloads" and will be chaired by COL Wayne M. Johnson, Director, Global Hawk Program Office, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Presentations on the Global Hawk and Predator programs by the respective PMOs will be followed by presentations on GH payload requirements (Northrop Grumman) and "Naval UAV Strategy" (UAV Section N780X). The USAF UAV Battlelab has been invited to present on UAV Theater level initiatives and General Atomics on "MQ-9A Hunter Killer." COL Steve Nichols, the TRADOC System Manager (TSM) for UAVs will chair Session II, "Tactical UAVs/ Payloads." Presentations include the "Army's TUAV and Division/Corps UAV Programs' Status" (TSM UAVs); the "Division TUAV SIGINT Program" (TSM Prophet); "Tactical Control System" (PMO, Patuxent River, MD); "US Army Emerging UAV Payloads" (PM UAV Payloads, Ft Monmouth, NJ); "Emerging SIGINT Technology for UAVs (Mr. Springer, L3); and "UAV Payloads - Past, Present and Future" (Titan Systems). Session III, "UCAV Weapons Systems/Payloads" will be chaired by COL M. Leahy, UCAV ATD PM, DARPA (invited). Presentations include the "DARPA UCAV Vision and Programs" (COL Leahy); "Navy UCAV ATD, Pegasus" (J. Kinzer, ONR); "Weaponization of the Predator" (Lt Col DeCou, Predator Program Manger); "Army UCAV Requirements" (COL W. Carmona, CDR, AATD); and "Integrated MTI for Shoot and Scoot SAMs" (USAF UAV Battlelab). Presentations planned for Session IV, "Payloads for the War on Terrorism," which will be chaired by Mr. Jan Moren (UAV SPO, US Army, CECOM) include the "Loitering EW Killer (LEWK) ACTD" will be presented by Marty Meyer (OST/MCSC); "USN/USMC Anti-Terrorism Payload Requirements (USMC Warfighting Lab - invited); USAF UAV Battlelab Anti-Terrorism Initiatives (USAF UAV Battlelab - invited); and "NRL Initiatives in the War on Terrorism" (NRL - invited). Session V will deal with "Small UAVs/Payloads" and will be chaired by Doug Thorp, PMA 263. S. Wilson, DARPA, will present "Small UAV Initiatives." Other presentations include "Army SUAV Programs/Requirements" (TSM UAVs); "Navy/USMC SUAV Programs" (USMCWL - invited); "Integrated Small UAV Sensor Suites for Kill Chain ISR" (AFRL/SNRR Wright-Patterson, AFB); "Air Launched UAV Concept Exploration Studies" (AFRL/SNRR); and "Future Combat System of Systems" (FCSS - invited). This conference will provide a comprehensive overview of a key area in our national defense and one of DoD's fastest growing business opportunities.
