- Description
- SSA-RFP-01-0014: Warehousing Services for SSA Headquarters Complex. SSA has a requirement for contractor services to staff and operate three (3) warehouses in the SSA Headquarters complex in the Baltimore, MD metro area. This requirement is a TOTAL 8(a) SET ASIDE. The current provider is SoBran Inc of Dayton,OH at an annual value of @ $855,000.00. The Contractor will be responsible for the storage and issuance of forms and materials used by SSA offices throughout the United States. The contractor shall provide the necessary personnel and services to operate the three warehouses with responsibility for performing the work described as follows: Issuing and shipping forms, publications and supplies, loading/unloading of trucks; Receive and disseminate incoming material into pallet racks as well as replenishing stock in bin areas; operate electrically powered forklift truck with a capacity of 3,000 pounds and a lift height of 204 inches; move, transfer, stack and unstack boxes containing supplies, materials and equipment; Assure that stacking, storing and moving are performed in accordance with safe and proper material handling methods; Observe all pertinent safety precautions, including preparation safety checks, speed, traffic operation and fire safety rules; Receive and store equipment, supplies and materials in accordance with planned storage arrangements; select and fill requests for equipment, supplies and materials using hand held computers; carry out continuous warehousing to consolidate stored materials and make room for incoming shipments; Maintain an orderly work area; Process approximately 175,000 line items per year using hand held computers; Process all requisitions for shipment utilizing Tan Data Parcel Manifest machines. Load/unload/tag excess furniture and equipment as well as prepare excess for disposal/resale. Protective security requirements require Contractor personnel who have access to SSA facilities shall be required to undergo a background investigation, which will be conducted by the Government. Such investigation shall include a check by fingerprints and a statement of personal history. Service Contract Act provisions apply. Refer to FAR 52.222-50, Non-displacement of Qualified Workers, (May 1999). Note: There are currently 21 people employed under this contract including Supervisor and Work Leader personnel. Any qualified 8(a) firm which believes it has the relevant experience, personnel, facilities, systems, etc. to perform the described tasks should notify the Contracting Officer by e-mail or fax of their interest in this requirement. The solicitation, when issued, will be available on the FEDBIZOPPS WEB Site (www2.eps.gov). This is a TOTAL 8(a)SET-ASIDE under NAICS Code 493110.
