- Description
- The Veterans Administration (VA) Boston Healthcare System seeks a provider for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) services for veterans enrolled as outpatients and inpatients in VA Boston Health Care System. The patients are seen mainly at the Jamaica Plain and Brockton campuses. It is expected that the patients will receive ECT at the provider site as outpatients. It is anticipated that approximately 16 inpatients will need ECT for up to three times per week for one month or less. About 35 outpatients may need ECT from once per week to once per six weeks. Both inpatients and outpatients would be considered as outpatients at the provider site; be cleared for ECT by both the VA and the provider; be at the provider site prior to ECT; and would remain there until medically cleared after a treatment. The provider would not need to supply transportation. The provider will maintain a medical record of the treatments and anesthesia that would be available to the VA Boston Healthcare System. The provider also would agree to have residents in psychiatry from VA Boston observe the ECT procedure. The anticipated period of performance is 1 Jul 2002 through 30 Sep 2003. Contract award is subject to availability of funds. This procurement will be issued unrestricted.
