Item 0001 NSN 1375-00-516-9927 P/N: 2518359, GOLD PLATED METAL SHELL WHICH CONTAINS A PRIMER AND BOO STER CHARGE, A BASE CHARGE OF LEAD AZIZE AND A BRIDGEWIRE WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE PRIMER CHARGE. TWO INSULATED LEAD WIRES ARE CONNECTED TO THE PRIMER INSIDE THE SHELL. DIMENSIONS: LENGTH 0.83 INCH DIA 0.238. DETONATION OF THE INITIATORS RESULTS IN DEPLOYMENT OF THE DRAG AND MAIN PARACHUTE. 200ea. Applicable to: BQM-34A. Delivery: 30 MAY 2003 200 ea Qualification requirements: Sources must be qualified prior to being considered for award. The solicitation will contain instructions for obtaining further information on this requirement. The qualification requirements for this item were established prior to 19 Oct 1984 and the requirements of FAR 9.202(A) do not apply. These qualification requirements apply to line item(s) 0001. The anticipated award date will be 20 JUN 2002. Electronic procedure will be used for this solicitation. To: Technical Ordnance Inc, St Bonifacius Mn 55375-0800. Award will be made only if the offeror, the product/service, or the manufacturer meets qualification requirements at the time of award in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation identifies the office where additional information can be obtained concerning qualification requirements is cited in each individual solicitation. An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor, concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process. Suitable technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge are not available to permit acquisition from other sources, nor qualification testing of another part, nor use of a second source part in the intended application. Although, by DoD-STD-100 definition, altered and selected items shall have an adequate technical data package, data review discloses that required data or data rights are not in Government possession and cannot be economically obtained.
