- NA This is a synopsis for a noncommercial cost plus fixed fee research effort entitled 'Digital Maintenance Architecture Demonstration (DMAD)'. The program objective is to integrate on-board aircraft maintenance data, an Interactive Electronic Technical Manu al, and aircraft parts marking with a task-based automated maintenance management system to provide a seamless automated maintenance environment for the maintainer. Work under the proposed contract will be conducted in two phases. The first phase will de sign, develop and integrate the software systems. Automated Identification Technology (AIT) will be applied to selected aircraft parts for configuration management. Phase II will conduct a demonstration to assess the functionality and benefits of the com bined system. The program will develop a maintenance information architecture and define standard interfaces to allow a common solution for all Army aircraft. This requirement will be procured in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source a nd no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Alpha contract negotiations will be limited to The Boeing Company. Boeing as manufacturer of the AH-64D Apache/Apache Longbow, is deemed the only responsible source uniquely qualified to perform this program. Specifications, plans or drawings relating to this procurement are not available and cannot be furnished by the Government. The period of performance for this program is approximately 24 months. The North American Industry Classif ication System (NAICS) applicable to this is 541710. The size standard is 1000. The Government anticipates award of a Cost Plus Fixed Fee type contract, which will be developed jointly between the Government and the Boeing Company, consistent with alpha contracting procedures and applicable cost principles, clauses, and provisions in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). No options are included in this acquisition. While the government does not anticipate competition, any responsibl e source may submit a proposal which shall be considered.
