- NA The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District is seeking sources and industry feedback for a Homeland Defense Contract to Design/Furnish/Install/Construct Security Systems and Related Real Property Reinforcements within the Omaha District Boundaries inc luding the states of NE, ND, SD, CO, MT, IA, WY, MN, and WI. The intent of this contract is to upgrade protection at government facilities including, but not limited to, dams, power plants, armories, reserve centers, military bases and government offices. The projected amount of this contract is expected to be in the range of $10,000,000 to $12,000,000 dollars. The contract Scope of Work is expected to include the following elements: Security Engineering Surveys, Design, and Construction. Security Engi neering includes protection against a variety of criminal and terrorist threats including, but not limited to, forced entry; covert entry; ballistics; explosions; and chemical, biological, or radiological weapons. Security Engineering Surveys consist of r eviewing aggressor threats, tactics, tools, and weapons; and, developing protective measures to achieve a desired level of protection. Security Engineering Design includes development of final plans and specifications suitable for constructing the require d protective measures. Construction consists of constructing perimeter boundary systems including fences, bollards, and other barriers; hardening existing building features (e.g., doors, windows, and walls); selecting, installing, and testing electronic s ecurity systems (e.g., closed circuit televison (CCTV), intrusion detection systems, and access controls); and interfacing new electronic security systems into existing computer control systems.
