- Description
- The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR) announces the availability of a BAA for the FY 2003 Defense University Research Instrumentation Program (DURIP) on behalf of the Department of Defense (DoD). This program will be administered through the Army Research Office, the Office of Naval Research, the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, and the Missile Defense Agency. A full description of the program is accessible on the World Wide Web at http://www.afosr.af.mil (select "research opportunities"). The DoD will not issue paper copies of this program announcement. DURIP is designed to improve the capabilities of U.S. universities to conduct research and to educate scientists and engineers in areas important to national defense by providing research equipment funds. This competition is open to U.S. institutions of higher education, other than federal government, with degree granting programs in science, mathematics, and/or engineering. The solicitation is open to proposals requesting $50,000 to $1,000,000 for equipment acquisitions that will support research and research-related education in any of the areas of interest to the DoD. The BAA provides the procedures for obtaining the program descriptions and areas of interest of the individual administration office. Names and addresses for the responsible program managers can also be found in the descriptive material for each of the administration offices. Proposals are due at the addresses listed in the BAA by 4 p.m. local time Thursday, 22 August, 2002. See Note 26.
