Description
NA Work consists of the addition of two new pumps, motors, and associated systems at the existing Mainstream Pumping Station in Hodgkins, Illinois, operated by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, in order to serve the pumping needs of the CUP McCook Reservoir Project. Structural work will consist of forming concrete for pump embedment including pump & motor foundations, machine work, welding, painting and coating. Mechanical work consists of the design, manufacture, shop test, del ivery and installation of one low head vertical-shaft, single-suction, single volute, centrifugal type pump with a capacity of 330 cfs discharge at 150 feet head and one high head with a capacity of 330 cfs discharge at 330 feet head. Additional work incl udes furnishing and installing all piping, valves, fittings, and related accessories to connect the existing gland water, drains and compressed air systems to the pumps. Also furnishing and installing the motor bearing oil cooler complete with pumps, damp ers and air to oil heat exchanger as well as removing and re-installing the existing motor ventilation. Electrical work consists of design, manufacture, shop test, delivery and installation of one vertical-shaft induction type motor not to exceed 8,000 hp and one synchronous type motor not to exceed 18,000 hp. In addition will be the design, manufacture, program, shop test, delivery and installation of programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and monitoring equipment for local and remote contro l of the pumps and motors. Additional work consists of general electrical work for installation of power distribution and control equipment including all wire, cable, conduit, circuit breakers, protective relaying and modifications to the existing control cabinets. This is a Request for Proposal and offers received from this solicitation material will be evaluated in accordance with the following criteria. The proposals will be evaluated and rated on the following items: 1) Prime Contractor?s Capabilities and Experi ence, 2) Pump Manufacturer?s Capabilities and Experience, 3) Pump Motor Manufacturer?s Capabilities and Experience, 4) Engineering Design Experience, 5) Cost/Price. Note that the cost/price evaluation factor is approximately equal to evaluation factors 1 through 4 when combined. The estimated cost range for this project is over $10,000,000. This project will be available on approximately 23 May 2002 and proposals will be due on 24 June 2002 at 1630 hours local time. This project is available on compact disk only. Project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Adobe Acrobat Reader must be installed by the user if not previously installed. The installation files are contained on the compact disk. The drawing files are in CAL format and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using software (Maxview) supplied on the disk, which is automatically loaded on insertion of the compact dis k. Minimum system requirements are: 486- based personal computer, Microsoft Windows NT 4.0/98, or equivalent, 64 MB application RAM, 24 MB hard disk space, and compact disk drive.
