- Description
- The Library of Congress/FEDLINK intends to negotiate a sole source IDIQ contract with Lexis-Nexis (ML) to continue to provide their Lexis-Nexis database services for the FEDLINK Program for FY03. The proposed contract is for one year. Lexis-Nexis offers a premier online legal, news, legislative and business information service. Lexis-Nexis provides online access to an extensive array of databases with nearly 60 million documents and offers a full range of legal, legislative, regulatory, company and financial, medical, news and current affairs information. The LEXIS service contains major archives of federal and state case law, continuously updated statutes of all 50 states, state and federal regulations and an extensive collection of public records from major US states and counties. The LEXIS service includes access to case law, administrative decisions, statutes, regulations, law reviews, specialty publications and more. Specialized databases cover all major fields of federal and state practice, including tax, securities, banking, environmental, energy and international law - English, Canadian and French law. The LEXIS service is now the sole provider of the Shepard's citator databases. The NEXIS service provides a global news and business information service which contains more than 8700 sources. These include regional, national and international newspapers, news wires magazines, trade journals and business publications. The publications cover a variety of material from the fields of business, finance, politics, technology and general news including national network and regional television broadcast transcripts. The Financial Information service includes company and financial information on public and private corporations throughout the world. Lexis-Nexis provides transaction-critical documents and document solution representative services. Lexis-Nexis also offers print and CD-ROM products through LEXIS Law Publishing, Michie Publications, Martindale- Hubbell, Matthew Bender and Mealey Publications. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals or bids. No telephone calls regarding this notice will be accepted. Written responses shall include prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability. No award will be based on any offer or proposal received in response to this notice. (See Note 22). A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
