Description
Furnish all labor, material and equipment necessary to replace an existing 48 ft. by 6 ft. concrete float at U.S. Coast Guard Sandy Hook Station, Monmouth County, NJ. The work also includes the replacement of two aluminum gangways as well as concrete surface repairs to an existing 133 ft. by 8 ft. concrete floating pier. Bidders are urged to inspect the site before submitting a quote. Payment Bonds will be required for contracts in excess of $25,000. This Request for Quotes is being issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to both large and small business participation. This project is estimated between $25,000 and $100,000. The applicable NAICS Code is 233210. The tentative date for receipt of quotes is 9 July 2002. Bid packages will be available on or about 14 June 2002 at a non-refundable charge of $32. Certified Checks or money orders should be made payable to Commercial Blue Print and Supply Inc. and mailed to the firm at: 83 Waverly Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to the Coast Guard. All relevant solicitation documents including specifications and drawings may be accessed for download for free commencing on the date of issue at the following website: http://www.eps.gov. Any amendments issued under this solicitation shall also be posted on this website. Also, you may refer to a list of other printers on the U.S. Coast Guard CEU/PROVIDENCE website at http://www.uscg.mil/mlclant/ceuprovidence. Printers on this list may be able to download and print the solicitation and drawings and specifications for a fee. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. All responsible sources are invited to submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the Coast Guard.
