Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate a firm fixed price Order under NAVAIR Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) Number N00019-00-G-0425 with Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, South Oyster Bay Road, Bethpage, New York 11714. This order requires a conceptual study of alternate engines for the E-2C aircraft, with NP2000 propellers, to assess the potential life cycle cost benefits of alternate engine candidates for both new production (Radar Modernization Program) and existing T56-A-427 powered E-2C aircraft. Northrop Grumman intends to solicit interested engine manufacturers with viable candidate engines to provide technical, financial and nominal schedule data to support this study. Only NGC has the knowledge and data peculiar to all configurations of the E-2C weapon systems. Using their unique engineering, manufacturing and logistics support experience and data, only Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation can assess the feasibility, benefits and effects of integrating alternate engines on the systems design and operational characteristics of the E-2C aircraft and provide timely results to NAVAIR to support program decisions and future fleet operational requirements. Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and systems integrator of the E-2C aircraft. See Numbered Note 22 - NAVAIR Synopsis Number 20081-02.
