- Description
- The recent redirection of funding to increase war-fighter and weapons support spending mandated by the war on terror has urged the Government to reduce its workforce substantially. In response to the workforce reduction, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has an immediate requirement for career transition training services to support the Office of Management Operations in developing a career transition training program for the senior executives and other career personnel within DARPA. To fulfill the requirement, DARPA intends to enter into a contract with Career Management International, Inc. (CMI) to develop a career transition training program tailored to meet the Department of Defense (DoD) imperative by helping individuals departing DARPA to make a smooth transition which will serve the interest of DoD by avoiding costly and time-consuming grievance defense process, which could be generated by disgruntled employees. CMI is an industry leader in outplacement, career management and corporate personnel development, and a global provider for outplacement and career counseling for a number of national firms. Because of the urgency in fulfilling the requirement as increased number of senior and professional employees are departing the agency, and in view of CMI's diverse professional skill base and its exceptional past performance in working with DARPA in previous contracts, CMI is the only source known to the Government with the capabilities, experiences and personnel for accomplishing the subject effort within the Government cost and schedule constraints. This Notice is published for the purpose of information only. This Notice is not a Request for Proposals. Contractors capable of offering their service must respond within 15 days of the date of this notice by submitting specific capability statement to provide the service. All responses received within 15 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
