Description

The USDA Forest Service, Region 2 has a requirement for road rehabilitation to shape and compact road subgrade and to furnish, haul, place, shape and compact aggregate surface course on approximately 2.73 miles (4.4 kilometers) of National Forest Service Road No. 37, locally known as the Jefferson Lake Road located in the South Park Ranger District in Chaffee County, Colorado. Other major work includes installing, replacing, extending and cleaning metal culverts, and traffic control. The first 2.40 miles of road will be the base bid and the remaining 0.33 miles will have additive items to be awarded if funds are available. The proposed project is located just north of Jefferson, Colorado, which is between Bailey and Fairplay along U.S. Highway 285. From Jefferson travel north and west on County Road 35 approximately 1.9 miles, then turn northeast for approximately 1.3 miles on county Road 37 to the forest boundary and the beginning of the project. The performance period for this project is 45 calendar days. Award of a firm-fixed price contract is anticipated and the magnitude of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000. This is an open competition project for both large and small businesses. This electronic solicitation is available to download only from the fedbizopps.gov web site. The solicitation is expected to be issued approximately June 13, 2002.
