Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) plans to issue an order on a sole source basis to the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc. (ASHRAE), Atlanta, GA, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The purpose and objective of this requirement is for continuing membership to the U.S. National Committee/International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR). Membership entitles NIST to the following: 1) Participating on 24 Technical Committees composed of worldwide participants and receive copies of research findings from the 45 Technical Committees, 2) Opportunities to attend the meetings held on worldwide refrigeration issues, 3) Receive publications issued monthly by the IIR as follows: The monthly journal of IIR, which includes technical papers, monthly abstracts of refrigeration papers published worldwide and proceedings of all IIR conferences held worldwide (approximately 2/year). ASHRAE is the only organization to offer this membership service. The period of performance will be for a one-year renewal with two (2) option years. The anticipated award date of the order is on or about 10 days from the date of this notice. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested persons may identify their intent and capability to respond to the requirement no later than the response date above. A determination by the Government not to complete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. For information, contact the POC identified herein. See Note 26.
