Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation No. (RFQ) P-9091-00-2-00. The standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code for the acquisition is 3826 and the NAICS code is 334516. The Food and Drug Administration is soliciting for the following equipment: Catalog No. BUN-7369, iCycler iQ Real Time Detection System with iCycler Thermal Cycler and PC Laptop Computer with the following requirements: Real time analysis can be accomplished on line during PCR. Tungsten halogen lamp excitation wavelengths from 300-1100nm; 96 sample tubes can be tracked simultaneously; up to four different reporter fluorophores can be multiplexed per sample tube; sample data can be reanalyzed at any time; optical system includes the Optical Module, Installation kit, two filter sets optimized for the most common applications, software and instructions, power module for optical system, all cables, connectors and tools, and PCR tubes and plates. Filter note: optical upgrade to the iCycler Thermal Cycler includes the FAM/SYBR Green filter set installed and the choice of one additional filter set. Computer must run iQ System. Minimum specifications must meet the following: operating system windows 95/98; 400 MHz processor; 256 color VGA monitor; 6 GB hard drive; 6x CD-ROM drive; 128 MB RAM; 1024 x 768 pixel screen resolution; 3.5? floppy disk drive; must include a dedicated parallel port and serial port. It is the government intent to negotiate on a sole-source basic with BIO-RAD, Life Science Group, Hercules, CA. Offers are due on or before June 17, 2002, 3:00 p.m. local prevailing time in Jefferson, Arkansas. Award will be issued to the offeror that provides the best value to the government and whose proposed equipment meets all specifications as referenced above.
