- Description
- The Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of Public Health and Sciences (OPHS), Office of Minority Health (OMH), through the Division of Acquisition Management (DAM), Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a sole source seven (7) month contract to the Native American Management Services, Inc. The purpose of this contract is to provide support services for convening a national forum to address the elimination of health disparities in Native American communities. The objectives of the forum are to: (1) reach an understanding and recognition of the legal and historic basis for the sovereign status of Native American which can help facilitate the process of addressing their health status; (2) identify strategies through which state and tribal governments can complement and supplement their respective health systems to improve the health of all Native Americans; (3) create an ongoing dialog for policy development implementation; and (4) foster partnerships between Federal, State, Tribal leaders, and the public/private sector in our efforts to close the gap between all Native Americans and the general populations. Closing date for this announcement is June 12, 2002.
