- Description
- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Mackay Communication. This proposed requirement for which the Government intends to solicit only one source is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(a)(2). This contract is for the purchasing of various on board kits and spares for Inmarsat Bm system. Each kits contain the following parts: r906566/8415 Step Motor; AZ/EL/Cross; 111100 Step Motor Level Platform; 112266-2 Rate Sensor 108870-13 Belt, Azimuth Short; 108870-31 Belt, Azimuth Long; 108870-16 Belt, Cross Level Short; 108870-25 Belt, Cross Level Long; 108870-17 Belt, Elevation Short; 108870-7 Belt, Elevation, Long; QUFC911903 2B Ext. Pwr Supply 5AT 10 Pk fuse for Pwr Supp; 10AT 10 Pk fuse for Pwr Supp; and QDGS911903 Display handset. Mackay Communications is the sole distributor of NERA Saturn Terminal to the U. S. Government. Particular for the Saturn Bm and Mm class system and ancillary items are only distributed by Mackay Communication. NERA will not honor warranty of any terminal sold through other sources. Therefore, such terminal will not be equipped with gray radomes or comply with U. S. Navy specifications. The NAICS Code is 334220 is assigned. The size standard is 750 employees. The type of contract to be awarded is a Simplified Acquisition Procedure (SAP) with options to order additional kits and parts with commercial provisions IAW FAR Part 12. This procurement is being conducted per FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This synopsis is issued for information only and it is not a request for proposal. Interested parties are notified that this solicitation will be available exclusively through the Internet by 12 June 2002.
