- This acquisition will provide a modification to Option III of the current contract extension and an additional contract extension consisting of a seven (7) month basic contract with five (5), pre-priced one (1) month options to extend the period of performance for the CLS requirements for twelve (12) months. The period of performance is as follows: Modification to current contract extension from 01 Sep 2002 to 30 Sep 2002, Additional contract extension from 1 Oct 2002 to 30 Apr 2003 with option months from 01 May 2003 to 30 Sep 2003. To: Boeing Aerospace Operations, Inc., Midwest City, OK, 73110. Authority: 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), Justification: Supplies (or Services) required are available from only one or a limited number of responsible source(s) and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty five-days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestors are acceptable. It is suggested that small business firms or others interested subcontracting opportunities in connection with this acquisition make contact with the firm(s) listed. All potential offerors should contact the buyer/PCO identified herein for additional information and or to communicate concerns, if any, concerning this acquisition. This acquisition is for specialized CLS maintenance, modification and support services required for the E-4B aircraft to include, but not limited to, aircraft programmed depot maintenance, contractor operated and maintained base supply, field service representatives, worldwide field service team capability, and other CLS support required to meet mission requirements for the E-4 fleet. The solicitation date will be 13 Jun 2002. Anticipated contract award date is 30 Jul 2002. Written procedures will be used for this solicitation. Note: An Ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The purpose of the Ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel. When requested, the Ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in evaluation of proposals nor in the source selection process.
