- NA The United States Army Corps of Engineers intends to award a firm fixed price contract for design and construction to Add/Alter the Fitness Center at McConnell Air Force Base, Kansas. All proposals from responsible vendors will be considered (full and ope n competition for all business sizes). Tentative date for issuing Request for Proposals is on or about 13 June 2002, with closing date of 2:00 p.m., CST, on 15 July 2002. Work includes, but is not limited to, design and construction of a 4,836 square met er facility (2,266 square meters of addition, 2,570 square meters of alteration) to include administrative office area, fitness equipment room, locker room, vehicle parking, and support area. Included are site development (parking, utilities, roads, lands caping) and altering/demolishing some of the existing rooms in the facility. A formal pre-proposal site visit will be scheduled and announced when the solicitation is released. Project does include CPM planning. Project includes the affirmative action pl an for Wichita, Kansas, US Department of Commerce Economic Area. Project will be awarded in three phases. Estimated time of completion for Phase I is 450 calendar days; Phase II is 120 calendar days; and Phase III is 105 calendar days. Project dollar ma gnitude is $1 million to $5 million. Specifications and drawings, issued on CD-ROM only, will be available without charge on or about 13 July 2002. Hard copies will not be available. Copies of the CD-ROM are limited to one per firm.
