- NASA/KSC plans to issue a Sole Source Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 6 each Electron Tube-RF Power, P/N 3CPX5000A7 to Richardson Electronics, Ltd, 417 CenterPointe Circle, Suite 1711, Altmonte Springs FL 32701. Richardson Electronics Ltd is the only distributor for CPI Eimac Division, who is the manufacturer of this part. These tubes are used in the 50 MHz Doppler Radar Wind Profiler (DRWP) at Kennedy Space Center. There is no equivalent or replacement for this type of tube. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:00 p.m. eastern standard time on June 6, 2002. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
