Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Molecular Imaging of Phoenix, AZ, for the purchase of (1) one PicoScan Controller, Item Number 75-2500.***Sole source determination is based on the need for this PicoScan 2500 Controller to be completely compatible and interchangeable with NIST's existing Molecular Imaging Nanoscope Microscope and software packages that are currently being used for the Nanostructures Program in the NIST Metallurgy Division. The PicoScan controller will upgrade the existing equipment too and Molecular Imaging is the sold manufacturer and supplier of the PicoScan 2500 Controller.***Delivery shall be FOB DESTINATION, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 60 days after receipt of order.***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516, and the size standard is 500 employees.***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by June 11, 2002. ***A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.*** For questions or concerns in regards to this notice, address them in writing to the Contracting Officer via e-mail @ joni.laster@nist.gov*** .
