Description

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. IT IS A SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. The Census Bureau Library provides a full range of services, resources, and products to all Census Bureau employees, regardless of location, and makes a special range of services and products available to other Federal agencies, state and local governments, private researchers, and the general public. Through these efforts the Bureau of Census provides and promotes services such as the following to an expanded customer base: (1) Census Authors' Papers Collection, (2) Daily customized awareness services for the Director and his/her staff, (3) Archival activities such as preservation and conservation; and (4) Specialized outreach programs such as tailored exhibits highlighting the agency's products and events. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is to gain knowledge of qualified sources for a potential contract to (A) Archive and preserve documents; (B) Catalog documents and other materials in English and other languages; (C) Scan Documents - books, papers and special collections (D) Promote library services; (E) Purchase books and publications; and (F) Provide on-line accessibility. Interested companies should be experienced in SIRSI. Section 508 compliance also applies. Please submit four (4) sets of company capability statements/packages to the Census Bureau no later than 4 p.m. (EST), June 11, 2002. Submissions shall be delivered to Mr. Albert Kennedy, U.S. Census Bureau, Silver Hill Road, Stop 1700, Building #03, Room #G-314, Washington, DC 20233-1700 (regular mail) or Mr. Albert Kennedy, U.S. Census Bureau, 4700 Silver Hill Road, Building #03, Room G-314, Suitland, Maryland 20746. Cover letters shall include company names, points of contract, telephone numbers, fax numbers, e-mail addresses for points of contact, whether companies are an 8a or small business and applicable NAICS codes. (At this time the potential contract has not been set aside for 8a or small businesses). In addition, please email your intent to send a capability statement to Abe Kennedy at albert.ernest.kennedy@census.gov
