Description
NA Background: The U.S. Army Logistics Integration Agency (LIA) plans to move from its current offices on the 1st floor of 5001 Eisenhower Avenue, Alexandria, VA to new offices in building 212, 5870 21st Street, Fort Belvoir, VA. The renovation of building 212 is scheduled for completion on or about 24 June 2002. For the purposes of this statement of work, all new and existing furniture should be installed in Building 212 not later than 26 June. Because of the construction, access may be limited before 2 1 May 2002. LIA has ordered desk chairs, conference room furniture, and executive furniture from UNICOR; and Defense DoL will move our PCs, servers, printers, files, and other items of furniture from 5001 Eisenhower Ave. to Fort Belvoir. LIA?s staff is comprised of senior-level action officers and supervisors (GS-13?s, 14?s and 15?s). Considering the staff?s experience and expertise, LIA does not wish to acquire the cheapest design or components. That is, quality of components, fabrics, and design will be important factors in evaluating offers in this best value procurement. Attached is a floor plan with furniture already designed. Offers will comply with the attached design. Improvements to the design will be evaluated for added value to the overall configuration. Scope and Tasks: The contractor shall furnish all required supplies and services to (1) disassemble and move existing systems furniture; (2) acquire and install supervisory workstations, (3) acquire and install action officers? workstations; (4) acquire and install filing and storage and (5) acquire and install accessories. 1. Existing Systems Furniture. 1(a) The contractor shall disassemble all systems furniture in LIA?s offices at 5001 Eisenhower Ave.?approximately 60 Artopex and GS Stratum workstations. Furniture not moved shall be stacked according to size to facilitate disposal by LIA. 1(b) The contractor shall transport and reassemble five (5) Artopex workstations and sixteen GF Stratum workstations. One Artopex workstation shall be installed in the telecommunications room (room 212) on the second floor of building 212; the rest, in t he lower level. 2. Supervisory workstations. The contractor shall acquire and install six (6) wooden, cherry-finished U-shaped computer workstations. Workstations shall accommodate electrical, telephone, and computer network wiring and shall be connected directly to building wiring. Typical worksta tions are U-shaped, including a single-pedestal, bow-front desk with return, credenza, and hutch; 18? wardrobe unit; and matching lateral file cabinet. The hutch, wardrobe, and file cabinet should be the same height. In addition to the file cabinets incl uded in the typical workstations, six additional matching 4 or 5-drawer lateral file cabinets are required. OFS Praxis, Krug Nexus, and OSI Mondrian are examples of acceptable wooden workstations. Note: services of a contractor-supplied electrician to connect workstations to building wiring will be required. 3. Action-officer workstations. Acquire and install fifty-four (54) action-officer computer workstations. Workstations shall be of panel and work surface construction, steel-framed and trimmed and fabric- covered. Fabric should be of moderate quality. That is, if a manufacturer offers three levels of fabric, quote on the middle level. Workstations shall accommodate electrical, telephone, and computer network wiring and shall be connected directly to building wiring. Electrical, telephone, and data connections should be at work surface and baseboard levels. Each workstation shall have a 36? two-drawer lateral file under the work surface and shall have at least four overhead storage compartments. Workstations in rooms 123 and 219 shall have six overheads each. Workstations in 123 and 2 19 shall also have half-round work tables (see drawings). Note: services of a contractor-supplied electrician to connect workstations to building w iring will be required. GFX from GF Office Furniture, MACsys from Design Resource Group, and AMYA and Imagine from Artopex are examples of acceptable action-officer workstations. 4. Filing and storage. In addition to the standard workstations, LIA requires 4 each 3-drawer lateral files (30?), 37 each 5-drawer lateral files (36?), 9 each 5-drawer lateral files (30?), 5 each storage cabinet/wardrobes (36?), 8 each 2-drawer vertical files, 9 each 2 ?-drawe r lateral files, 6 each coat racks, 6 each 2-shelf bookshelves for installation under work surfaces, 1 each 4-shelf bookshelves, and 2 each 3-shelf bookshelves. Metal components should match the trim color (black) on the workstations. Non-metal component s may match either the work surface color or trim color. See paragraph 2 for additional filing and storage requirements. 5. Accessories. Acquire and install keyboard arms and PC (CPU) brackets or trolleys for all 60 (54 + 6) workstations, described in paragraphs 2 and 3 above. Keyboard arms must be of ball-bearing construction. Arms with Teflon slides are not acceptable. ISE?s skate and t rolley are acceptable.. ONLY ELECTRONIC REQUESTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. NO PHONE REQUESTS.
