- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This requirement is being issued as a Request for Quotation. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2001-07 and Defense Acquisition Circular 91-13. This solicitation is not restricted regarding business size. NAICS code 811310. This solicitation has one CLIN with the purpose of issuing a Firm-Fixed Price Contract. The following service is required for one P & H crane, serial number C14756, 75 ton /10 ton Auxiliary lift overhead bridge crane located aboard the Marine Corps Logis tics Base. CLIN 0001: The Contractor must be certified to repair/service P & H brand cranes and will be required to supply all parts, labor, material, and required travel expenses, to perform the repairs, modifications, operational load tests, and wire rope/cable certifications for the crane. All testing shall be documented and the test results shall be provided to the government at the completion of the service. The repair shall consist of replacing the bearings and seals in main and auxiliary hoists. Replace bearings and seals in the bridge and trolley gearbox. Change the oil in each. Replace the conductor bar with a festoon system. Replace wire rope on main and auxiliary hoist. Load test main and auxiliary hoist. All work will be conducted on site. Work to commence 1 July 2002. The Government will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforming to the solicitation, will be considered of best value to the Government. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered in a similar commercial service, provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government.
