- Questions and Answers 1. What is the fluid that will be used in this valve? The fluid is ambient hydrogen. 2. What is the piping material connected to the valve? The mating hubs on the pipe connected to the valve are Nitronic 40 (per ASTM A182 FXM-11). 3. What is a "D25" ending? Is this a Reflange or Graylock number? A "D" hub is a heavy-duty hub for severe service. It is physically larger than a normal hub and requires "D" size clamps. A "D25" is a "D" hub with a 25 seal ring size. These hubs are in the Grayloc catalog. 4. What type of seat shut-off is required? The seat material and/or any other soft goods used must be compatible with gaseous hydrogen. Since, this valve is used for bottle isolation, there should be zero seat or external leakage at the rated pressure of 15000 psi. 5. What are the O.D. and I.D. of the mating piping? The O.D. of the mating piping is 6.625". The I.D. is 3.373".
