Description
Under authority of U.S.C. 253(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1 the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland intends to negotiate a contract with MAR USA, Inc., 1840 Oak Ave., Evanston, IL 60201, to provide an X-Ray Detector System. The system will be used to record the pattern of X-rays diffracted by a crystal to determine protein structure. This system shall include an alignment tool, a personal computer work station, and a flat panel monitor. This X-ray detector system shall be furnished, installed, and tested in accordance with the following. The X-Ray Detector System shall: (1) Offer computer controlled alignment to the X-ray beam, (2) Include a built in holder for the cryosystem which points the nozzle at the crystal under study, (3) A cryoexhaust which removes moist air from around the crystal to prevent icing, (4) A motorized true two-theta arm (0 to 30 degrees) of compact size which may be installed and utilized in a laboratory with limited space, (5) A personal computer work station and flat panel monitor; and (6) Installation and on-site instruction shall be included. The intended procurement will be classified under NAICS 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing, with a size standard of 500 Employees. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). Concerns that respond to this synopsis shall furnish concise responses directed specifically to the requirements mentioned above and are invited to submit capability statements in an original plus two (2) copies no later than fifteen(15) calendar days from the date of this announcement. Sources demonstrating the capability to accomplish the above shall supply pertinent information in sufficient detail to demonstrate their ability to perform.
